Guide to Most Useful Bookmarklets

Bookmarklets are simple tools that extend the surf and search capabilities of Firefox and Explorer web browsers.

Bookmarklets allow you to:

  • Modify the way you see someone else's webpage.
  • Extract data from a webpage.
  • Search more quickly, and in ways not possible with a search engine.
  • Navigate in new ways.

Here's a link to some useful bookmarkets. If you use IE, right-click and save the bookmarklet to your Favorites.

Create book collections from almost any wiki

Add this web page to your favorites or drag the bookmarklet to your bookmark bar. Go to Wikipedia. Find articles that you want to put into your book - click the link from the favorites - and build a "collection" in Pediapress.

You can convert your collection to a PDF or have Pediapress turn it into a printed book for you. The formatting is very nice. A portion of the proceeds of each book will be donated to the Wikimedia Foundation to support their mission.
